A Princess Anne woman has died from injuries she sustained in a single-vehicle car crash Tuesday morning on Route 13 in central Salisbury.
Salisbury Police said a car driven by Regina Tyrell Burnette, 55, failed to negotiate the "S-Curve" that veers on the boulevard struck a curb and a telephone pole at that intersection. Burnette’s vehicle, which had been traveling north, flipped over at the time of the collision and came to a rest on the adjacent railroad tracks at South Division Street.
Burnette was taken across the street to Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Police said she died of her injuries late Tuesday.
Her body has been transported to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Baltimore, where an autopsy will be completed.
The investigation is on-going and the Salisbury Police Department -- in conjunction with the Maryland State Police -- are working to determine the cause of the crash. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact the Salisbury Police Department at 833-SBY-CITY.
