Drennen: Where is ‘common decency’ in transgender-athlete issue?

Posted

It is nice for Kristin Froehlich to have her opinion on transgender girls in female sports; it’s very open-minded (“Transgender girls deserve to play”).

But the majority of people in the country don’t want this to happen to young girls’ sports. The science is, no matter what drugs transgenders take, they still have the bodies of males. The makeup is quite different from females. Not only do girls not want them in the sport, but by doing so, it allows them in the locker rooms and showers.

Where has the common decency gone? If a male swimmer ranks 455th in the men’s rankings, then says he is transgender and becomes No. 1 in the women’s rankings, how is that fair? Why is it that girls who lose out on championships, medals and scholarships have to endure this? People should compete in sports in the same gender category they were born in.
