Drennen: Coons’ ‘falsehoods’ should be challenged

Posted

Well, election time must be here because Sen. Chris Coons, D-Del., is speaking out (“Country’s economic policies need work"). Let’s address the issue of cost of living. Under Sen. Coons, the border was open, allowing millions of immigrants to enter the country illegally. The cost of their housing, food, healthcare and education was put on taxpayers. Money that should have gone to American citizens is now spent on the people President Joe Biden and Coons let in.

If Sen. Coons knew economics, he would know that the biggest expense a business has is labor. Raising wages may help the worker on paper, but it raises prices to pay for those raises. Where was Sen. Coons during the Biden administration, when inflation rose to over 9%? What did he do? Nothing but silence.

He also claims that he never believed President Biden was not capable of being president. Even after the disaster of a debate shown to the country, the senator stood behind him. Coons speaks about affordable housing, but how long has he been in Congress to address this problem? Sen. Coons also falsely claims that Obamacare is working. Remember when you were promised that you could keep your doctor and that health insurance costs would go down? Just the opposite has occurred, as has been shown by many studies.

Once again, Sen. Coons claims that President Donald Trump gave tax relief to the rich, which is another false statement. Talk to small-business owners. There is more credit for childcare, larger tax breaks on tips and larger tax cuts for older adults.

Don’t believe Sen. Coons’ lies and falsehoods. The time is now to make a change.
