Dover woman found dead in home; homicide investigation ensues

DOVER — A homicide investigation is underway after a 72-year-old woman was found dead in her residence Sunday, Delaware State Police spokesman Senior Cpl. Leonard DeMalto said.

Police said troopers responded to Case Ridge Road in Wolf Creek at approximately 5:20 p.m. for a report of a female found deceased in her bedroom. Due to circumstances surrounding the death, Cpl. DeMalto said, the Homicide Unit has assumed the investigation.

On Tuesday, police identified the victim as Denise Wood.

No suspect information was available, authorities said Monday.
