Dover man charged with weapon, drug offenses

Dover man charged with weapon, drug offenses

DOVER — A 38-year-old Dover man was arrested on weapons and drug charges following a knife complaint Thursday, authorities said.

Dover Police spokesman Master Cpl. Ryan Schmid said investigation began at 1:11 a.m. when officers were called to the area of College Road and North DuPont Highway for the complaint. A man told police he had been threatened by another man with a knife before he fled.

Police later arrested Jason Corkell in connection with the case.

Mr. Corkell was charged with possession offenses including deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, with intent to deliver heroin, deadly weapon by a person prohibited, controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, as well as aggravated menacing, first-degree reckless endangering, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, offensive touching of a law enforcement officer, terroristic threatening, criminal impersonation and resisting arrest. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $32,300 cash bond.
