Dover man charged with firearm, drug offenses

DOVER — A 22-year-old Dover man was arrested on firearm and drug charges Wednesday as part of an investigation, authorities said.

Dover Police spokesman Master Cpl. Ryan Schmid said Tyrese Bailey was contacted in the area of South New and West Reed streets at approximately 5:08 p.m. He was taken into custody without incident and officers located a .22 caliber rifle concealed inside of his jacket.

Police said officers continued their search of Mr. Bailey and located 54.1 grams of marijuana, 154 bags of heroin and 1.3 grams of crack cocaine.

Mr, Bailey ws charged with possession offense of firearm during the commission of a felony, firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited (three counts), with intent to deliver a controlled substance (three counts), firearm with an obliterated serial number, controlled substance in a Tier 1 quantity and controlled substance, and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.

Mr. Bailey was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $152,200 cash bail.
