Dover barber shop shooting leaves one man dead

DOVER — A man was shot and killed at a barber shop in the Rodney Village area Friday, authorities said.

The Delaware State Police said troopers responded to Uplift Barber Shop at 1534 Governors Avenue for a reported shooting around 5:42 p.m. After investigating, troopers learned a 23-year-old man was patronizing the establishment when an unknown male entered through the front door and fired multiple shots at him before fleeing.

The victim was struck in the upper torso and transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

There were other individuals in the shop during the incident, but no one else was struck or injured.

The investigation remains ongoing. At this time, there are no further details on the suspect. Anyone with information regarding this case should contact Det.
