Dover airman charged in attempted enticing of minor

Posted

DOVER — A 36-year-old airman at Dover Air Force Base was arrested Tuesday and charged with attempted enticement of a minor.

David C. Weiss, the U.S. attorney for the District of Delaware, said in a news release that Tech. Sgt. Armand Nicholas Lu met an individual online who he believed to be a 14-year-old girl and began communicating via text message with the person. That individual was a special agent with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, Mr. Weiss stated.

Over the course of the next several weeks, Sgt. Lu, via text, expressed interest in meeting and having sex with the person he believed to be the girl, the release said.

During those exchanges, a meeting was arranged for Tuesday, at which time Sgt. Lu was placed into custody by investigators, Mr. Weiss said.
