Suspect sought after Dover restaurant burglarized

Posted

DOVER — A suspect was being sought Monday after a burglary at El Nopal Mexican Restaurant on Saturday.

According to spokesman Master Cpl. Ryan Schmid, officers were called to the 627 W. Division St. business for an alarm at 11 p.m.

Officers found that a window was open, so they entered the restaurant to check for suspects and found none.

An investigation revealed that an unknown person entered El Nopal through the unsecured window about 10:57 p.m. and, once inside, stole an undisclosed amount of money and left, Cpl. Schmid said.

The suspect was described as a male wearing a light-colored T-shirt and a backpack.

Police asked anyone with information to call 302-736-7130. Callers may remain anonymous. Tips may also be submitted via Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333 or delaware.crimestoppersweb.com; a cash reward is possible for information leading to an arrest.
