Douglas A. Bethel

Douglas A. Bethel, 66 WYOMING - Douglas A. Bethel, 66, of Wyoming, died in his home on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009. He was born Feb. 4, 1943, in Queens, N.Y., and he was the son of the late Redverse and Evelyn Bethel. After serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1964 until 1968 Douglas had worked as a technician for the Xerox Company for 21 years. Mr. Bethel loved to spend time with his family and also had interests in automobiles and electronics. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Bethel in 1973. He is survived by two sons, Stephen Bethel of Chestertown, Md., and Matthew D. Bethel of Felton; two grandchildren, Gavin Steele Bethel of Chestertown, Md., and Jessica Brooke Kersey of Jackson, Miss.; his sister, Marilyn Lonergan of West Chester, N.Y.; and brother, Thomas G.N. Bethel of New Hampshire. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday Nov. 19, at the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State Street, Dover. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 20, at Holy Cross Church, S. State St., Dover. Condolences may be sent and Guest Book signed via www.ambruso.com.
