Dorris Marie Roland

FELTON - Dorris Marie Roland of Felton, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014 at the Capital Health Care Center in Dover. She was 96. Dorris M. Roland was born October 21, 1917 in Crumpton, Md. the daughter of the late Frank Biddle and Anna Florence "Walls". After retiring from waitress work for most of her life, Mrs. Roland worked at Cresent Farms Nursing Home in Dover, for 2 years. Mrs. Roland has been a volunteer for most of her life, for many years at the V.A. Hospital in Wilmington. Mrs. Roland was very social and made sure she called on all of her friends and family. She was very active in the VFW Post 652 in Millington, Md., she was a member of the Smyrna-Clayton Moose Lodge, member of Calvary Asbury United Methodist Church and has been a member there since she was 16. She is also a former Sunday School teacher and Bible School teacher. Mrs. Roland was everyone's friend and truly enjoyed helping anyone she could. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Sammy Dave Roland in 1980; and one daughter, Mary Louise Karbaum. She is survived by one son, Frank Mitchell Bush and wife Joyce of Felton; and one sister, Frances Lucus; nine grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren. A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Crumpton Cemetery in Crumpton, Md. In lieu of flowers contributions can be sent to Calvary Asbury United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 202 Sudlersville, MD 21668 or to the Millington VFW Post 652 Auxillary, P.O.
