MILTON - Dorothy Marie Workman, lifelong resident of Milton, passed away Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, in her home. She was 91. Dorothy was born in Milton, daughter of the late Daniel B. and Laura (Lingo) Smith. Dorothy was a homemaker and had worked at Milton Hardware for 6 years and in the cafeteria at Milton High School for 3 years. She was a member of Crossroad Community Church. In addition to her parents, Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, David B. Workman, in 1994. She is survived by her loving family, including, four daughters, Kathleen Pavlik, Thompson Falls, Mont., Barbara W. Moore, Middletown, Gale Young and Vickie Wright, both of Georgetown; a son, J.D. Workman, of Milton; two sisters, Eleanor Smith and Phyllis Stout; and a brother, Franklin Smith, all of Milton; 17 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at Crossroad Community Church, 20684 State Forest Road, Georgetown, with visitation after 11 a.m. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milton. Contributions can be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963; or Meals on Wheels, 32409 Lewes Georgetown Highway, Lewes, DE 19958.
