Dorothy Mae Garnett

WARWICK, Md. - Dorothy Mae Garnett died peacefully on Dec. 22, 2013 at the Heartland Hospice House in Wilmington. She was 62. Born in West Chester, Pa., Mrs. Garnett was the daughter of Carl Wm. Loggins Sr. of Rising Sun, Md. and the late Margie Roop. Mrs. Garnett worked as a Nursing Assistant at the Perry Point Veterans Healthcare Facility in Perryville, Md. Mrs. Garnett enjoyed collecting Longaberger baskets and reading. She attended Ebenezer AME Church in Chesapeake City, Md. and served on their Usher Bd. She also loved her friend and companion, her dog Eskimo. In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, Percy Garnett; a son, Joey Loggins; two step-daughters, Monica Watson and Ursula Garnett; two step-sons, Wayne Satchel and Stacey Duker; four sisters, Alice Marie Loggins, Carla Janice Loggins, Kathy Mary Loggins and Betty Gardner; one brother, Carl Wm. "Billy" Loggins Jr.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at Christ Unity Church, 1150 Singerly Rd. Elkton, MD, where friends and family may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Bohemia Manor Cemetery, Chesapeake City, MD. Arrangement by: Fellows Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, Millington, MD.
