LINCOLN - Dorothy L. "Dolly" Sammons, "Laughing Rain", passed away Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013 in her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born March 9, 1950 to the late Linwood Mosley, Sr. and Emma Seeney. Dorothy was a member of the Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape tribe of New Jersey. She worked at Wawa in Milford, Del. until her retirement in 2012. She enjoyed spending time with her family and going to the pow-wow to celebrate her heritage. She loved Elvis Presley and cooking for her family and friends. She loved to laugh and have a good time. She was a very strong-spirited and caring woman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jason W. Sammons, Sr. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Charles "Shorty" Sammons; her two daughters, Stephanie and husband Kelly McCoy, of Felton, Kimberly and husband Nelson Ortiz, of Lincoln; eight brothers and sisters, Patricia Pierce of N.J., Joyce and husband Eddie Sammons, of Dover, Gerald and wife Sandra Mosley, of N.J., Mary and husband Floyd Stafford, of Md., Linwood and wife Christina Mosley, of Frederica, William Seeney and friend Gail Bard, of Smyrna, Sonny and wife Teresa Morgan, of Dover, and Ernest Morgan of Dover; her seven grandsons, Justin Sammons of Pa., Dylan Sammons and Zachary Ortiz, both of Lincoln, R.Djuan May and Jason Sammons Jr., both of Dover, Garrett McCoy of Felton, and Jay Sammons of Annapolis; her two granddaughters, Courtney and husband Jesse Church, of Dover and Shannah Ortiz of Lincoln; special friends, Paula Starke and Joey Dugan; beloved great-grandchildren, Hunter, Saniyah and Ayana, all of Dover; many special nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and great friends.
