Dorothy L. Kaufman

Denton, Md. - Dorothy L. Kaufman died Wednesday, August 22, 2012, at her home, after a battle with cancer. Born in Denton on November 25, 1931, Ms. Kaufman was the daughter of the late Thomas Luther Andrews and Oceola Lister Andrews. She was born and raised in Denton where she lived throughout all of her life. Ms. Kaufman had been a supervisor at Choptank Electric Cooperative in Denton for 42 years until she retired January 3, 1992. She was a 1948 graduate of Caroline High School in Denton and was a member of the Denton Episcopal Church. She was predeceased by her brother, Willard Andrews; and two sisters, Elsie Gray and Vivian Haley. Ms. Kaufman is survived by two sons, Samuel "Buster" R. Kaufman, Jr. and his wife Joan of Denton, Thomas Kaufman of Denton and one granddaughter, Jenne Kaufman of Rehoboth Beach. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Monday, August 27, 2012, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 S. Second Street in Denton where friends may call one hour before the service. The interment will be in the Denton Cemetery. The family suggests for friends to send memorial donations to: Samuel Kaufman, Jr. at 321 Country Club Drive, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971 for the benefit of Dorothy's caregivers.
