Dorothy L. Billings, 87 MILFORD - Dorothy L. Billings, of Milford, died Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at Country Rest Home in Greenwood. She was 87. Mrs. Billings was born Dec. 31, 1922, in Milford, daughter of the late Willard and Fannie (Dickerson) Lank. Mrs. Billings was a fulltime homemaker. She devoted her life to her family, and dearly loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Billings was a member of the Avenue United Methodist Church, Milford In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by two brothers, Willard Lank and Edward Lank; and five sisters, Katie Argo, Sara Elizabeth Wenter, Fannie Morris, Lula Deputy and Clara Jean Robinson. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Herschel W. Billings; three children, Dianne Barnard and husband William, Steven Billings and wife Annette, all of Milford, and Holly Giles and husband Gary, of Greenwood; six grandchildren, Michael Barnard, Michelle Wright, Addrienne Brozefsky, Ashley Billings, Brian Miller and Stacey Giles; seven great-grandchildren, Kyleigh, Jared and Brandon Wright, Paige Barnard, Drew and Ava Grace Brozefsky and Kamaran Miller; and a sister, Ruth Ann Sammons of Winter Park, Fla. A funeral service was held Sunday, April 11, in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front Street, Milford. Entombment was in Milford Community Cemetery. Flowers are accepted or contributions can be made to the charity of your choice.
