Dorothy B. Freniere

DOVER - Dorothy B. Freniere, of Dover, formerly of Chicopee, Mass., passed away Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011, in Bayhealth Kent General Hospital. She was 97. Mrs. Freniere was born Sept. 9, 1913, in Westfiled, Mass., the daughter of the late Thomas C. St. Ledger and the late Florence Shea. She worked as a presser for Franklin Cleaners in Springfield, Massachusetts for many years before retiring in 1976 and moving to Dover in 1994. Mrs. Freniere loved to read and was well known for her great sense of humor, her kindness and generosity and as being a hard worker all of her life. She is survived by a son, Gary Freniere and his wife Christine of Windsor, Mass.; a daughter, Jo Ann Tester and her husband Pete of Dover; six grandchildren, Gary Freniere Jr. and his wife Diane, Deborah Dostal and her husband Jeff, Joshua Buckley and his wife Nil, Alicia Hill and her husband Chris and Jared, and Lucas Freniere; and four great-grandchildren, Amanda Cyr, Ella Hill and Braeden and Ethan Buckley. Graveside services will be Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, 243 Charles Street Boston, MA 02114.
