CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Dora P. Miller, 91, of Chestertown, died Jan. 14, 2009, in Chestertown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Chestertown. Mrs. Miller was born on July 22, 1917, in Chestertown, daughter of the late William and Sadie Patrick. She was a lifetime resident of Chestertown, working for Kent and Queen Anne's Hospital for over 30 years, retiring as the Administrative Assistant to the Administrator, in 1985. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, All Seasons Garden Club, Women's League of Washington College and the Kent & Queen Anne's Hospital Auxiliary. Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Eugene Miller in 2003; a son, James P. Bright; and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by a son, William T. Bright and his wife Thelma; a daughter, Cynthia Miller Ireland; and a sister, Jean Lambert, all of Chestertown; seven grandchildren, Susan Bright, Gretchen Coppage, Dr. David Bright, Steven Bright, Julie Neukam, Eric Ireland, and Kelly Ireland; and seven great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18 in Chester Cemetery, Chestertown. Arrangements by Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, Galena.
