Donna Lee Short, 60 MILFORD - Donna Lee Short, of Milford, passed away Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, at the Country Rest Home in Greenwood. She was 60. Donna was born on Feb. 22, 1949, in Milford, daughter of the late Floyd M. and Elizabeth (Holston) Short. She graduated from Milford High School with the Class of 1967. She continued her studies and graduated from Delaware Technical & Community College in Georgetown and later attended classes at Delaware State College in Dover. Ms. Short was employed in the collection department with Mellon Bank for 12 years, retiring from her position in 1990. She enjoyed gardening, the outdoors, especially taking nature walks and loved days spent at the beach. Donna willingly devoted time as a volunteer with Hospice and was a participant in the Sundance Sweat Lodges. She is survived by her special cousins, Jack Carpenter and his wife Taube of Milford, Jodie Sleva and her husband Bob and their children Alison and Morgan of Milford, Jeanne Jarrell of Milford, Jackie Maloney and her husband Randy of Milford; her loving caregiver, Alverta Roberts; two aunts and several other cousins and her dog, Gabby. A memorial service was held Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford. Interment was held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to Compassionate Care Hospice, 702B Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, DE 19805.
