Donald R. Gorman

Donald R. Gorman, age 84, of Lincoln, DE passed away at home on August 2, 2024 after suffering from Alzheimer's for his last few years.
Donald was born on May 22, 1940, in Jersey City, NJ. He was the son of the late Robert Gorman and Frances (Dowd) Gorman. He was also preceded in death by his brother Eugene Gorman.
Donald grew up in Jersey City surrounded by family and friends.
He served in the U. S. Army. After his military service, he became a Police Officer in Jersey City, NJ. He dedicated himself to serving his community for 25 years.
He was a member of the Jersey City, POBA, and the Jersey City Lafayette VFW.
After retiring, he and his wife Patty moved to Delaware. He volunteered at Milford Memorial Hospital for many years. He worked Security at the Cape May Lewes Ferry. He was a member of the Milford and the Milton Lion's Club, the Kent County and Sussex County Fraternal Order of Police, and the Seaford VFW Post.
He enjoyed traveling, watching baseball and football, reading his newspaper and drinking his morning coffee in the front of the house and talking to all the neighbors. His favorite thing to do was spending time with his grandchildren. He always had a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye when his was with them.
He is survived by his loving wife Patricia (Meenan) Gorman, two sons Richard Gorman and his wife Kimberly, Kevin Gorman and his wife Karen, six grandchildren Stephanie, Ashleigh, Kevin Jr., Hailey, Maggie, Ryan, and two great grandchildren Hunter Witham and Jesson Witham.
On Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 12 noon there will be a Memorial Mass for Donald R. Gorman at St. John The Apostle Catholic Church, 506 Seabury Avenue, Milford, DE.
