Donald Orman Whitmore, 79 GEORGETOWN - Donald Orman Whitmore, passed away Friday, February 26, 2010, in his home. He was 79. Donald was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of the late Orman and Agnes Coots Whitmore. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. He was a New York City firefighter for 20 years, retiring in 1977. He was a member of the Delaware Mobile Surf fisherman, The Knee Deep Club in Hopatcong, N.J., and the Mansfield Gun & Rod Club, Mansfield, N.J. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and carpentry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Ciaramella Whitmore in 2006; and a grandson, Michael Fox. He is survived by his daughters, Donna Whitmore of Georgetown and Linda Ambacher and her husband, Bill of Succasunna, N.J.; sister, Ruth Monzillo and her husband. Charlie of Florida; and two grandchildren, Jocelyn Fox-Hutton and Ryan Ambacher. Services and burial will be private. Arrangements handled by Short Funeral Services, Georgetown.
