MAGNOLIA - Donald Austin Gerhard passed away peacefully Monday, August 22, 2022, in his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Donald was born May 1, 1937 in Hazelton, PA to the late Mahlon & Eletha (Montz) Gerhard.
He served proudly in the United States Air Force, and was a member of the American Legion Post # 2, Dover. He worked for over 25 years for Draper/King Cole in Milton before retiring in 1999. Donald was a devout member of the Woodside United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his son, Randal Gerhard; a brother, Mahlon Gerhard; his granddaughter, Jennifer Wightman; and his great-granddaughter, Jessie Leeanne Gerhard.
Donald is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marlene (Dargay) Gerhard; his daughter, Mona Reece & husband, William, of Frederica; a sister-in-law, Clementine Gerhard, of Weatherly, PA.; nine grandchildren & 14 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 11 a.m., in the Woodside United Methodist Church, 1407 Main St., Woodside, DE.
