DOVER - Diane W. Ennis, of Dover, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016 at Bayhealth/Kent General Hospital in Dover. She was born Feb. 1, 1941 in Wilmington, the daughter of the late Raymond B. and Helen U. Wallace of Odessa, DE. Diane was a graduate of Middletown High School and attended Marion College in Marion, Va. and Shenandoah Conservatory of Music in Winchester, Va. She enjoyed playing the piano and going to the beach in the summer with family and friends. For many years, she was a summer resident of Pickering Beach, Del.. She was a long time member of the Dover Century Club and participated in Christmas in Odessa for many years. She was a loving wife, mother and friend to many who will be dearly missed. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Bruce C. Ennis of Dover; her daughter, Heather D. Ennis, also of Dover; and a host of extended family and friends. A viewing will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 14, 2016 in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main St. in Smyrna. A second viewing will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Old Drawyers Church, located on Southbound Rt. 13, North of Odessa, where funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in the cemetery at Old Drawyers. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Diane's devoted caregiver, Eltheria Morris, who helped take care of her for the past four years.
