HARRINGTON - Dennis Dane Craft, of Harrington, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, in Hahnemann University Hospital, Philadelphia, Pa. He was 40. He was born in Salisbury, Md, to Anita Craft and the late Marshall Dane Craft Sr., of Georgetown. Mr. Craft graduated from the Laurel High School where he was very active on the football and baseball teams. After high school, he attended Del Tech in Georgetown, the University of Delaware, Cal State of California, then went back to the University of Delaware. Mr. Craft worked alongside his parents at Craft Deli of Bridgeville, where he was the co-owner. In his spare time, he enjoyed going to the beach, and watching the Redskins and Orioles play. He will be remembered as a free spirit who enjoyed people. He never met a stranger, and loved to talk. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and he always put his family first. He will be sadly missed by his family and close friends. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of three years, Sherry Craft of Harrington; step-sons, Ryan and Kyle of Harrington, brothers and sisters-in-law, Marshall Dane and Teresa Craft Jr. of Seaford, Michael Byron and Rebecca Craft of Millsboro; sisters and brothers-in-law, Karen Sue and Gordon Elliot of Dagsboro, Melissa Louise and Aaron Clifton of Owens Mill, Md.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Union United Methodist Church, Bridgeville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to the Union United Methodist Church, Laws and Market St., Bridgeville, DE 19933. Arrangements are by the Melvin Funeral Home, Harrington.
