Delaware’s first heat wave of 2025 broken by 'backdoor cold front'

State climatologist says higher-than-normal temps still expected this summer

An atypical cold front moved in from the north late last week, breaking several days’ worth of 90-plus degree temperatures and stifling humidity.

But, while Delaware’s first heat wave of 2025 may be over, state climatologist Kevin Brinson says summer’s just warming up.
