DOVER — Vote411, a nonpartisan online tool maintained by the League of Women Voters of Delaware, is now available for residents looking for voting and candidate information for the Sept. 13 state primary.

This year’s primary races include one statewide race, for auditor of accounts; three state Senate district races; 11 representative district races; one New Castle County Council race; two Kent County Levy Court races; as well as Register of Wills, Recorder of Deeds and one council district seat in Sussex County.

The league’s Vote411.org website offers side-by-side comparisons of the backgrounds and positions of each candidate and strives to empower voters to be fully informed as they cast their ballots during the elections, according to a news release.

The purpose is to provide a “one-stop shop” for voters to learn about the candidates in their districts and to get up-to-date information on registering to vote, which now can be done on the same day as the election.

In addition, voters can learn about the different options for casting their ballots, which now include vote-by-mail and early voting, in addition to absentee voting and in-person voting in district polling places.

“I encourage everyone to learn about the candidates,” said Jill Itzkowitz, the league’s Vote411.org coordinator. “It is more important than ever to make an informed choice.”
