DOVER — Delaware State University will hold an Observatory Open House and Astronomy Presentation at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 18 in the Mishoe Science Center (South) on campus.

The open house is free and open to the public.

The event will begin with an astronomy presentation by Dr. Matthew Bobrowsky, Observatory and Astronomy Lecturer, in Room 223 in the Mishoe Science Center (South).

After the early nightfall descends, the attending public will be able to climb up to the University’s Astronomical Observatory and look through the telescope (weather permitting).

The Observatory has a 14-inch Meade reflecting telescope that will enable members of the public to see such solar systems sites as far as Jupiter and its moons, Saturn and its rings, craters on the moon, as well as a host of other celestial objects as time permits.

While the Mishoe Science Center and Room 223 is handicapped accessible, the Observatory is not.

For more information, contact Dr. Bobrowsky at 302-857-7729 or at mbobrowsky@desu.edu.
