DOVER - Delaware State's men's basketball players weren't playing like they were ready for their season to be over.

So the Hornets were pretty excited to find out that they've got at least one more game to play.

The Hornets have accepted an invitation to play in the College Basketball Insider Tournament next weekend.

DSU (15-18) will face Seattle (19-14) next Saturday in the first round of the 15-team tourney being played in Daytona Beach, Fla.

The Hornets reached the finals of the MEAC Tournament, falling to Howard, 70-67, in the championship game on Saturday.

"I think it's great for the program," said DSU coach Stan Waterman. "We've got a lot of momentum going right now. Obviously I felt like we performed really well in the MEAC Tournament.

"I think it's good publicity and exposure for our program and certainly for Delaware State University. And if you've got a team of guys who really want to play. ... I just feel really, really good about that."

Saturday's game with Seattle will be the first between the two programs.

Delaware State last played in the CBI Tournament in 2015, when it also lost in the MAC finals. The Hornets have also played in th NCAA Tournament in 2005 and the NIT in 2006 and '07.
