NEWARK — Zion Bethea played in only three games for the Delaware men’s basketball team this winter because of injury.

Now apparently the transfer guard won’t be seeing any more action for the Blue Hens.

Bethea entered his name in the NCAA Transfer Portal today, giving Delaware a reported four players in the portal.

A 6-foot-4, 205-ppund guard, Bethea saw a total of 44 minutes of action for the Hens in three January contests. He netted eight points, four rebounds and an assist.

Bethea had previously spent time at Hofstra and St. Francis Brooklyn.
Also currently in the portal for Delaware are Jyare Davis, Gerald Drumgoole, Jr. and Wes Peterson.

The Hens have gotten a commitment from Izaiah Pasha, a 6-foot-4 guard formerly from Philadelphia’s Cardinal O’Hara High. He had previously committed to Iona but changed his mind when coach Rick Pitino left for St. John’s.

Pasha spent last season at St. Thomas More (Conn.) Prep where he averaged 13 points, four rebounds, and four assists per game. He shot 59 percent from the floor and made 31 three-pointers.

According to a story on CityofBasketballLove.com, Pasha has put on 15 pounds over the last year. According to the website, his college decision came down to San Diego State, Sacred Heart and Delaware, which had previously offered.

Pasha also had an offer from Temple. He said Hens’ coach Martin Ingelsby told him he’ll have a chance to make “an immediate impact.”

Delaware had previously gotten a commitment from 6-foot-8 forward Macon Emory, the brother of current UD player Houston Emory. The two brothers are the sons of former Milford High standout Andrew Emory.
