Delancy Clifton Barrett, Jr., the son of Carolyn Payne and Delancy Barrett, Sr. was born on November 19, 1964 in Dover, Delaware.
Delancy quietly slipped away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Bay Health Hospital in Dover, Del. Delancy attended Smyrna High School in Smyrna, Delaware and was employed as a truck driver at Bear Concrete in Bear, Delaware.
He was preceded in death by his father, Delancy Barrett Sr.; his maternal grandmother, Estella Sullivan; paternal grandmother, Mazie Watson; his aunt, Shirley Fountain; and two uncles, David M. Miles and Jovan Sullivan.
He leaves to cherish his wife, Mary Ann Barrett; daughter, Myra Peace-Bullock (Kelby) of New Jersey; parents, Carolyn L. Payton and Bruce R. Patterson of Wilmington, Delaware; one grandchild, Rose Ann Correa; three brothers, Shawn Miles and Von Miles of Wilmington, Delaware and Tony McGee of Houston, Texas; four sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; three close friends, Mr. Lester Scott, Mr. Clifton Tilghman and Mr. Eddie Reid.
A walk-through viewing will take place Friday, January 22, 2021 from 1 to 2:45 p.m. Private funeral service 3 p.m., Friday at Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming, Del. The family is limited to 50 guests, masks and social distancing are required. The family prefers plants instead of flowers, live stream will be available at www.pippinfuneralhome.com
The Barrett, Payton and Miles family would like to take this opportunity to thank each of you for every act of kindness during this very difficult time. Your prayers, cards, encouragement and presence has been a blessing to our family. May God richly bless you.
