Debra Taylor

DOVER - Debra Taylor was received by her parents, Walena Washington and the late Johnny Washington, in Kings County Hospital Brooklyn, N.Y. In 1978, Debra attended Maxwell High School in Brooklyn, N.Y. After high school, Debra was an assistant for J&W Demolition for some years. On Sept. 5, 2005, she married Victor Taylor where she relocated to Dover. She became a member of the Love Temple Church and ushered there for 5 years. During that period, she was a loyal employee at Playtex Corporation. Unfortunately, December of 2012, Debra Taylor was diagnosed with 4th stage Lung Cancer. Although at times when Debra's pain seems unbearable, she remained strong for the birth of her first grandchild Amania Kea Washington. After long suffering, God decided to call Debra Taylor home on Jan. 9, 2012. Debra was a loving, energetic, creative and full of life. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and in-law. Debra leaves to cherish her precious memory; her husband, Victor Taylor; her son, Jerome M Washington; her granddaughter, Amania Kea Washington; her sisters, Vanessa Tranquil, Yvonne M. Totten, and Bernetta Jackson; her brother, Bernard Totten; her daughter in-law, Ameka Kea; brothers-in-law, Ramel Tranquill, William Jackson, and Tory Taylor; her sisters-in-law; her aunt, Sherry Roundtree; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She will be missed. Service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 14, at the Love Temple Church, 1057 S. Governor's Ave., Dover, where viewing will be one hour earlier. Burial will be in Brooklyn, N.Y.
