Debra Delores Jenkins

DOVER - Debra Delores Jenkins went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 7, 2011, after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born on Dec. 22, 1954, in Demopolis, Ala., and raised in Buffalo, N.Y. Debra relocated to Dover in the early 70's. Debra obtained her education in the Buffalo public school system and attended Delaware State College after which she was employed by Boscov's and later MBNA. During her employment in various customer service positions, Debra had the opportunity to meet many people. She later went on to Evangelize at Connection's Community Center of Dover. She touched so many people with her big smile, warm personality and jubilant conversation. On Dec. 28, 2006, Debra was united in Holy Matrimony to Sylvester Jenkins of Seaford, DE, a loving and faithful husband who she leaves to celebrate her zest for life. Debra is one of eight children of Melvina and Robert Allen of Buffalo, N.Y., who she leaves to cherish her memory along with her only child Vaughn Glen Williams (Olga) of Buffalo, N.Y.; two grandsons, Jordan and Junior Williams; one grandaughter, Destiny Williams; four brothers, Willie Gilbert (Dorothy), Robert Allen, Jr. (Roslyn), Darryl Dyer (Kassandra), Kareem Allen (Sandra); three sisters, Glenzel Henry (Dewittfield), Suzette Carter (Gary), Denise Myles (Anthony); and two devoted sisters, Mary and Linda Salter; a special niece, Arianna Myles; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at 11 a.m., at the Calvary Baptist Church, Rt. 8, Dover, with a viewing two hours prior to the service. Interment will be in Sharon Hill Memorial Cemetery. Letters of condolence may be sent and guestbook signed at www.benniesmithfuneralhome.com Arrangements by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover.
