With heavy hearts, we announce that Deborah Susan Miller Forney, 67, passed away on July 24, 2024, after a courageous 14-month battle with brain cancer.
Deborah was a pillar of her community as an active member of her church, the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, for many decades. She served on the council and most recently held the position of president.
Deborah served as the office manager of Brandywine Total Health Care for almost thirty years. Throughout her career, she touched countless lives, helping many patients with her kindness and compassion.
Deborah was preceded in death by her first husband, Gregory Forney, and is survived by her second husband of 27 years, Donald Feeney. She leaves behind three devoted sons, Peter, Richard, and Gregory Jr., her stepdaughter, Jessica, along with many cherished grandchildren.
A memorial service to honor Deborah's life will be held at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Wilmington, DE, on August 3rd. The visitation begins at 9 a.m., followed by the service at 10 a.m., and then a luncheon. The burial will take place that afternoon at Barratt's Chapel in Frederica, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks everyone to make donations in Debbie's memory to one of the following charities:
• Lutheran Community Services
• Emmanuel Dining Room
Deborah will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, wife, sister and a cherished friend to so many.
