DOVER - Davine B. Donoghue, of Dover, passed away at 4:03 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, surrounded by friends at Pinnacle Rehabilitation Center, Smyrna, after a long battle with diabetes and Alzheimer's. Davine survived lung cancer in the early 1980s. She was 71. Davine graduated from Conrad High School in Wilmington in 1955, and later graduated in 1957 from Goldey Beacom College with a degree in accounting, but remained home raising her children. She was a former member of the Eastern Star. Her hobbies included horses, playing the piano, painting, gardening, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, cross stitch, and adopting animals including rescuing horses, all of which became her children. Davine was a Christian and is resting peacefully with her mother and father Muriel Georgina Weber and Davis Bernard Weber in Heaven. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Harry F. Donoghue Sr. of Dover; her sons, Harry F. Donoghue Jr. of Smyrna, David-Michael Alexander, and Stephen Golder, both of Camden-Wyoming; her daughter, Carrie Lee Covey of Lewes; two grandchildren, Jonathan Turner of Greensboro, Md., and Joanna Turner of Lewes; and her brother, Grant Weber of Newark. David, Harry Jr., and Stephen would like to thank the staff at Pinnacle for their incredible dedication to their mothers care and in helping them help their mother to find peace for the last three months of her time on earth. They would also like to thank Sheila, Jennifer, and Patricia of Vitas Hospice for their assistance in helping a woman who selflessly gave so much to so many, never expecting anything in return, pass with peaceful dignity and respect. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday in the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St., Dover, where services will be 8 p.m. Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday in the Delaware Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Bear.
