David W. Erickson Sr., 66

LINCOLN - David W. Erickson Sr., passed away Sunday, August 16, 2009, in Bayhealth Milford Memorial Hospital, Milford. He was 66. Mr. Erickson was born March 8, 1943 in Glen Cove, N.Y. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. Erickson was presently employed as a bus driver for the Poly Tech High School and was also an ordained minister. He enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with his grandchildren. While living in Long Island, N.Y., he was a volunteer with his local fire company. Mr. Erickson attended worship at the Milford Church of God. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Darlene J. Erickson; a son and daughter-in-law, David W. Jr. and Regina Erickson of Mt. Airy, N.C.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dolores and Joseph Matarazzo of Pilot Mountain, N.C., and Debbie and Russell Rosetta of Greenwood; and nine grandchildren. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at the Milford Church of God, 500 N. Walnut St., Milford. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions to defray expenses be sent to Mrs. Darlene J. Erickson, 160 Foreman Ave., Lincoln, DE, 19960. Arrangements handled by Rogers Funeral Home, Milford.
