David R. Hardican LINCOLN -David R. Hardican passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. He was 66. David was born on September 8, 1943 in Darby, Pennsylvania to Herbert Barr and Helen (Gregory) Hardican. Always the patriot, David served his country proudly in the United States Army from 1962 to 1965. Later in life, David enjoyed working as a volunteer at the Delaware Veterans Home in Milford. He had a natural talent for woodworking, a love of WWII aviation and a gift at repairing just about anything. His greatest love in life, however, was all the special times spent with his family. He enjoyed camping trips with his family, teaching them the value of hard work and the importance of laughter. He was a man who loved, and was loved dearly in return. He was the type of person who made friends everywhere he went, and touched many lives in his time on this Earth. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hardican was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert "Sandy" Hardican and a sister, Joan Edwards. He is survived by his best friend and wife of 39 years, Jeanne A. Hardican, three sons; D. Michael Hardican and his fiancée Kaitlin Mooney of Cambridge, Md., Steven B. Hardican and his fiancée Tiffany Wilkins of Charlotte, N.C., and Paul R. Hardican of Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly J. and Grant Bushey of Elizabethtown, Pa; a brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Mary Hardican of Shallotte, N.C.; a sister, Lois Law of Telford, Pa, four grandchildren; Ashton Hardican, Alex Bushey, Chase Hardican and Morgan T. Nichols and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 2, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church, 101 S. Walnut St, Milford, where friends may greet the family one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to the First Presbyterian Church, P.O.
