CLAYTON - David R. Brown, Sr.passed away on Mar. 19, 2015. He was born Jul. 4, 1942 in Dover to the late Mary Moffett Brown. He retired after over 40 years of work from Local 626 of Wilmington as a Union Carpenter. David was a former Grand Knight of Brother Vincent Council of the Knights of Columbus, Charter Faithful Navigator of Our Lady Queen of Peace Assembly of the Knights of Columbus. He was past District Deputy and past State Deputy of the Delaware State Council of the Knights of Columbus. He was the past President of the Kenton Ruritan and he was Lt. Zone Governor with the Delmarva-New Jersey District Ruritans. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty; daughter, Diane Brown of Louisville, KY; son, David Brown, Jr. of Kenton; sister, Anne Harrold of N.J.; brother, Frank Brown, also of N.J.; and their families. A viewing will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thurs. Mar. 26, 2015 in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main St. in Smyrna. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Fri., Mar. 27, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Polycarp's Roman Catholic Church, located at 135 Ransom Lane in Smyrna. Burial will follow in Sharon Hills Memorial Park in Dover. Condolence letters may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com
