LEWES - David Lee Johnson of formerly of Smyrna, returned into our Heavenly Father's arms on Friday, Nov. 9, 2012. A much loved father, brother, and son, Mr. Johnson was born Oct. 8, 1961 in Dover, to the late Carol Lee Johnson and Vernon David Johnson of Smyrna. David was a 1980 graduate of Smyrna High School where he was a four year varsity wrestler. When he graduated, he held the single season pin record, the career pin record, and the career win record for Smyrna High School Wrestling. He worked for Buck Algunquin in Smyrna as a Machinist for four years until the accident that resulted in his lifetime disability that rendered him unable to work. David enjoyed riding his Harley before his accident, family get togethers, and spending time with his precious daughter, Brianna. In addition to his father, he is survived by his only daughter, Brianna Marie Johnson of Lewes; his step-mother, Yasmith Johnson of Smyrna; his brother, Dean Johnson and his girlfriend, Mary of Smyrna; his step brother, Wajib Palis and his wife, Jessica of Felton; his step-sister, Fairuz Lutz and her husband, Kenneth of Frederica; his nephew, DJ Johnson of Camden; and his nieces, Madison and Allison Lutz of Frederica. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, Nov. 16, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main St. in Smyrna. Memorial services will begin at noon. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Smyrna. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Bryn Mawr Rehab Center, 414 Paoli Pike Malvern, PA 19355 or to Conley's United Methodist Church, 33106 Jolyns Way, Lewes, DE 19958.
