DOVER - David "Buddy" Faulkner, Jr., went home to be with the Lord Mar. 8, 2017.
He was born Apr. 7, 1927, and reared in Delaware by the late David and Sarah Faulkner.
He served in both the Air Force and Army. David was a member of the Camden-Wyoming Moose Lodge, and also both the American Legion and VFW in Dover. He was a hard-working man. David enjoyed keeping his vehicles spotlessly clean, loved junking and selling produce at the Spence's Bazaar where he was known as the 'potato man'. He had a big heart and lots of friends. David will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Norma Cooper; brother, Clifford "Pete" Faulkner; sister, Grace Norris; son, Wayne Faulkner; daughter, Sarah Faulkner; son-in-law, Darvin Marino; and granddaughter, Lisa Grace.
He is survived by his brother, Samuel Faulkner; three sisters, Margaret Werner, Josie Rawding, and Doris Murphy; his daughter and caregiver, Patricia Hurd (her husband, Jay); daughters, Sandra Marino and Darlene Sterling; grandchildren, Donna Turner (her husband, Kevin), Donald Vanderwende, Brenda Vanderwende and Tina Faulkner-Guffey; three great-grandchildren, Da'Shawn Grace, Kevin Turner, II and Dazha Morris.
A private procession was held at the Delaware Veterans Home, where he lived and gained several friends, especially a very special lady to him, his aide, Peggy. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, Mar. 15, 2017, at 2 p.m., at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro.
Arrangements in the care of Berry-Short Funeral Home, Felton.
