MAGNOLIA - Daron "Jay" Daniels, 45, of Magnolia, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, May 1, 2011. Born on Nov. 10, 1965, in Dover, he was the son of Doris (Lowman) Daniels and the late John R. "Doc" Daniels. Jay was a member of the Union Ironworkers Local #451 for the past 15 years. He was a lighthearted individual with a wonderful spirit who enjoyed making others laugh. He enjoyed playing bluegrass music and like his father, was a gifted musician who loved playing the banjo. His love for bluegrass music was evident in the sound of each note he played. Many knew Jay for his mechanic abilities. He was electronically inclined and was known for his ability to fix anything and especially enjoyed repairing computers. Jay and his wife, Sara, enjoyed crabbing, fishing and attending bluegrass festivals together. Jay's greatest joy in life was spending time with each of his two beautiful daughters. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert F. and Martha Daniels. He is survived by his mother, Doris Daniels; his loving wife of ten years, Sara (Bolton) Daniels; two beautiful daughters, Jennifer and Katie Daniels; a brother, Faron Daniels and his wife, Dolores; sister, Barbara Paisley; three nephews, Wade, Brandon and Ryan; step-daughter, Crystal Nesbit; step-son, Jeffrey Hogan; two step-grandsons, Bryden Nesbit and Kaden Hogan; and many dear friends and colleagues. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, May 7, at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, 212 N. Broad Street, where friends may visit Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Townsend Cemetery.
