Daphne Rachel Kelleher

DOVER - Daphne Rachel Kelleher, of Dover, died suddenly on Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, at home. She was 14. Daphne was born June 13, 1996, in Dover, to Don Kelleher and Judy Kelleher. Daphne was a very loving girl and close to her family. She was a student at St. Benedictine School in Ridgley, Md. Prior to that, she attended Central Middle School in Dover. Daphne participated in the Special Olympics and won several medals. She loved drawing, swimming, amusements rides, and spending time with her family. She was very creative and imaginative. Daphne was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather. She is survived by her parents, Don and Judy Kelleher of Dover; maternal grandmother, Ellen Urie of Dover; brother, Michael P. Kelleher (11) at home; sister, Amanda Ventura (25) and her husband Aniceto "Tavo" Ventura, of Seattle, Wash.; aunts, Mary DeCarpentry of O'Fallon, Ill., Michele Kelleher of Bayonne, N.J.; cousins, Michael DeCarpentry and Jennifer Bielauskaus; niece, Sabre Ventura; and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m., Thursday, March 3, 2011, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State Street, Dover. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m., at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Interment will be in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State Street, Dover, DE 19901. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
