Dana L. Roberts, 84

MILFORD - Dana L. Roberts died on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was 84. He was born in Winfield, W. Va. the son of the late Eyra and Iva (Tucker) Roberts. Mr. Roberts was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, Army & Air Force and served during World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War. He retired from military service in 1970. He worked at Mid Del Corporation and retired from Baltimore Air Coil. He enjoyed Nascar racing and Football. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years, Martha Johnson Roberts, who passed away in 1992, two brothers, Shirley Roberts and Stanley Roberts; three sisters, Betty Kirkpatrick, Margaret Stephens and Kate Milbee. He is survived by eight children, Roger Roberts and fiancé Carla Link, of Lincoln, Kenny Turner, Sr., Rosetta May and husband Richard, Shirley Mills and husband Gilbert, Sharon Carey and husband Harry, all of Milford, Marlene Higham, of Ellendale, Darlene Colon, of Lincoln and Juanita Yager, of Frederica; 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and a great-great grandson. He is also survived by two sisters, Pat McLaine and Jewell Griffith; and a brother, Bill Roberts. Services were held Monday, September 14, 2009 in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front Street, Milford. Burial, with military honors, was in the Milford Community Cemetery, Milford.
