On Friday, at lunchtime, concerned voters in Wilmington held a rally to encourage Sens. Chris Coons and Lisa Blunt Rochester, both D-Del., to use all levers of power to stop the Trump-Musk momentum in its power grab. There were 113 attendees who signed the Citizens’ Appeal. The appeal told our senators that we have their backs, and we want them to have our backs, in stopping this constitutional crisis.
We urged the senators to work to stop the unconstitutional moves by Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency to take over significant departments of the federal government. He is an unelected citizen who has illegally seized the Treasury Department’s computer systems. He has also taken over the U.S. Agency for International Development building, entered many other government buildings and hijacked their internal computer systems. Members of Congress have been denied access to these departments of the government. These actions constitute an attempted coup of our government and upend the balance of powers enshrined in the Constitution.
I implore all Delaware citizens who love our democracy to write to the White House and insist that these actions be halted at whitehouse.gov/contact.
