DOVER, Del. - Dale A. Barr, Sr. passed away Friday, November 26, 2021, at Kent General Hospital.
Mr. Barr was born December 15, 1939, in Lancaster, Pa. to the late Lloyd Barr and Dorothea Miller Barr.
He served in the United States Air Force retiring after 20 years as a MSGT for the Air Crew Life Support. After his military career he worked for I.L.C. Dover as a technician for 8 years, then went to work for Shaffer Lincoln Mercury in car sales for 5 years prior to going to work for Delaware State Probation and Parole for 10 years. Mr. Barr was a member of the Camden/Wyoming Moose Lodge, Walter L. Fox Post #2 in Dover. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan, enjoyed freshwater fishing and crabbing.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by brothers, Dick Barr, Paul Barr, Jack Barr; and sister, Dorothy Sangrey.
He is survived by his children, Tracey Harris of Phoenix, Ariz., Dale Barr, Jr. of Phoenix, Ariz. and Jason Barr and his wife Nicole of Felton, Del.; grandchildren, Maxwell Loper and partner Cathie Aguilar, Christopher Loper, Torin, Caelan, and Lydia Bishop, and Deanna Harris; great grandson, Maxwell J. Loper; close companion, Shanon Schafer and her daughter, Amy.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment is private.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Modern Maturity Center Daycare program.
