Daisy Olivia Coffin

Daisy Olivia Coffin, 76

DELAWARE CITY - Daisy Olivia Coffin, of Delaware City, died Thursday, May 8, 2008, in Governor Bacon Health Center, Delaware City. She was 76.

She was born on May 7, 1932, in Dover, to the late Edward Roe and Sadie H. Walls Coffin.

Miss Coffin was a 1950 graduate of Caesar Rodney High School and a 1954 graduate of University of Delaware with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education.

She went on to earn a masters degree in elementary education and administration from Penn State University.

Miss Coffin was employed with the state of Delaware as a schoolteacher in the Dover and Wilmington areas, retiring after 30 years of service.

She was also in real estate sales for many years.

She is survived by a son, Jonah Coffin of Lancaster, Pa.; one sister, Patricia Coffin Berry and husband Alan of Locust Grove, Va.; and one brother-in-law, Richard C. Lewis of Hatfield, Pa.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Fleegle & Helfenbein Funeral Home, 106 W. Sunset Ave., Greensboro, Md., where friends may call one hour prior.

Interment will be in Greensboro Cemetery, Greensboro.
