Curtis Valentino Davis Sr.

Davis Sr., 60 LINCOLN - Curtis Valentino Davis Sr., owner of C. V. Davis Electric Co. Inc. of Lincoln, Del., departed this life at home in his wife's arms and surrounded by his loving family on May 10, 2013. Curtis was born February 14, 1953 in Milford, DE to the late Hershel and Virginia Davis. On March 28, 1975 Curtis married his elementary and high school sweetheart Sally Christie (Savage) and to this union they were blessed with two children. He was a 1971 graduate of Cape Henlopen High School. He also attended Sussex Vo-Tech in Georgetown, where becoming an electrician became his passion. After working for several local companies including Local 313, he decides to branch out on his own and became owner and operator of C.V. Davis Electric Co. Inc. in April 1989. Under his leadership the firm wired numerous homes and businesses throughout the state of Delaware. He later joined the Sussex County Electrical Contractors Association in Sussex County. He used his business to encourage many young men and women to go into the electrical field, and or to better themselves by further their education. He was a member and Deacon of Faith Hope & Love C/F in Milford Delaware. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Curtis Valentino Davis Jr.; one sister Donelda Davis; two brothers Charles R. Davis and Matthew A. Harmon. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of thirty-eight years, Sally Davis, Slaughter Neck; daughter, Kesha, Slaughter Neck; stepmother, Wilhelmina Davis, Ellendale; three sisters-Hattie R. Harris (Luke); Theresa Willis (Howard), Milton both whom he raised; Julia Davis, Ellendale; an uncle, William White, Norfolk Va.; one grandson KeMar Curtis Davis, Slaughter Neck; two nephews with whom he was very instrumental in raising, Curtis Savage of Millsboro and Machi Savage of Germany; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday May 18, 2013 at Wesley Chapel U.M. Church Slaughter Neck, DE where family and friends may visit between 10 a.m. and noon. Interment will be at Old Hickory Cemetery, Slaughter Neck. Arrangements by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Milford. See www.benniesmithfuneralhome.com
