NEWARK, Md. - Curtis Savage Jr., of Newark, died Thursday, March 5, 2009, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury. He was 66. Born in Laurel, Del., he was the son of the late Samuel H. Kellam and Lillian Savage. During his life, he attended St. John A.M.E. Zion Church in Laurel. He worked as a truck driver for Draper King Cole Company and the Town of Ocean City. He will be lovingly missed by: his wife, Connie L. Savage of Newark; two stepmothers, Gertrude Winder of Seaford, Del. and Margaret West of Laurel; five brothers, Anthony Matthews of North Carolina, Wilmer West of Laurel, Sam West of Seaford, Ronald West of Wilmington, Del., and Theodore (Jackie) West of Salisbury; 14 sisters, Retta (Elmer) Kane, Joyce (Mike) Winder, Brenda (Allen) Johnson, and Ella (William) Farlow, all of Seaford; Matilda Smith, Audrey Winder, Dianne Freeman, and Thelma West, all of Laurel, Deborah (Raymond) Davis of Ellendale, Del., Mary Showell and Joyce Price, both of Salisbury, Daisy Satchell and Ruth Anne West, both of Frankford, Del., and Phyllis (Jackie) Robinson of Dover, Del.; an aunt, Retta Oney of Laurel; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; special friends, Larsen Jarmon, Wade Riner, and Cindy Riner; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, in-laws, and friends. A daughter, Teresa Bright, has preceded him in death. A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Williams A.M.E. Church, Newark. Rev. Baron Hopkins will be officiating. Family and friends may visit two hours prior to the service. Interment will be in Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery, Nine Pin Branch Road, Newark.
