CRISFIELD — This year mathematics teacher Shari Aigner’s classes at Crisfield High School are competing in the H&R Block Budget Challenge. Students are learning and practicing many real-world money management skills: Paying bills, managing expenses, saving money, investing in retirement and more. These skills are considered to be some of the most important to have real life success.

The H&R Block Challenge tests students in a variety of areas and their scores, along with 20,000 other students from across the nation, are posted to an individual leaderboard. The highest scorers on the leaderboard are eligible to receive individual scholarships of up to $100,000.00 that may be used to attend a four-year school of the student’s choice.

Senior Elaina Cvetko is currently ranked over 98 percent — number 370 out of 20,069 students across the nation. Ms. Aigner said, "Please join us in congratulating her amazing success up to this point, and continue to offer her ongoing support as she continues to work hard toward her goal."
