DOVER — Delaware’s seven-day rolling average for new daily positive COVID-19 cases is down to 170.6 new cases per day — the lowest since Nov. 3 of last year.

The Delaware Division of Public Health reported 104 new positive cases of the virus in its daily update Monday which reflects data as of Sunday at 6 p.m. Delaware has recorded an all-time total of 106,252 positive COVID-19 cases.

The number of individuals hospitalized in Delaware with COVID-19 is at 101. The DPH had reported 95 COVID-19 hospitalizations the day prior, but said the hospitalization data for that day was not complete due to provider reporting delays. COVID-19 hospitalizations have not been below 100 since there were 95 hospitalized on March 14.

Of the 101 currently hospitalized, 12 cases are considered critical according to the DPH.

Five newly announced COVID-19-related deaths were reported by the DPH on Monday, bringing the state’s total to 1,641. All five were as a result of a Vital Statistics review of records from March and April.

Two of the five were residents of long-term care centers, increasing the total number of COVID-19-related deaths in long-term care facilities to 751 (45.7%).

The five individuals ranged in age from 51 years old to 87 years old — 83% (1,363) of the state’s COVID-19-related deaths have been individuals 65 years old or older.

Two of the five recent deaths were Sussex County residents, another two were from New Castle County and the other was from Kent County. New Castle County has recorded 814 COVID-19-related deaths, followed by 488 in Sussex County and 339 in Kent County.

A total of 812,319 doses of the COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in Delaware, as of Sunday at 11:59 p.m., with 371,279 individuals who have been fully vaccinated in Delaware. Of those fully vaccinated, 334,025 are Delawareans. Non-residents can be vaccinated in Delaware provided they either work in the state or receive their healthcare here.

An additional 105,491 total persons, including 95,246 Delawareans, are partially vaccinated meaning they have received their first dose of a two-dose vaccine series and are awaiting their second dose. The DPH said 55.2% of all age-eligible Delawareans (16 years old and up) have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
