Cosmo Michael 'Tony' Ricchuiti DOVER - A Celebration of Life service will be held for Cosmo Michael "Tony" Ricchuiti Saturday, Feb. 20, at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming. Friends may call between 1 and 3 p.m. followed by a memorial service beginning at 3 p.m. Interment will be at a later date with family. Cosmo "Tony" died at home on Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, of natural causes. "Tony" was born April 14, 1937, in Girardville, Pa., to the late Cosmo and Rose Perate Ricchuiti. He served in the National Guard and United States Air Force from 1954 - 1961. In 1994, he retired from Kraft-General Foods in Dover. "Tony" is a well known local drummer in bands such as; Pony Express, The Gamblers, Bear Country, Sugar & Spice, and Blue Hen Country for over 40 years. He was owner/operator of "The Little Trains" and provided entertainment for children in Delaware, Maryland, and New Jersey for almost 20 years. You could always see Tony with a smile on his face and wonder who was having more fun, him or the children. Tony was a member of A.B.A.T.E., the American Legion for 50 years, The Elks Club of Dover for 20 years, the VFW, Camden-Wyoming Moose Lodge for 7 years, and a lifetime member and past president of the Silver Lake Tavern Fishing Club. In recent years, Tony's favorite pastime was playing Pinochle at the Modern Maturity Center in Dover, riding his Yamaha "tryke" motorcycle and entering the Bike shows. In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his brothers, Roy Ricchuiti, Joe Ricchuiti; and sister, Marie Sacco, all of Reading, Pa. He is survived by sister, Angie Miller of Reading, Pa.; his former wife, Ellen Petty Ricchuiti; his wife, Eleanor Hertz Ricchuiti of 36 years; daughter, Carol and Jerry Hill Sr. of Dover; son, Mike and Donna Ricchuiti of Bear; son, Steve Ricchuiti and Wendy Roberts of Dover; daughter, Ruthie and Capt. Heath Ruppert of MCB Camp Lejeune, N.C.; three grandchildren, Jerry Hill Jr., and Ashley Hill of Dover, and Kelcy Morris of Pensacola, Fla. In lieu of flowers, the family requests sending donations in honor of Tony to Modern Maturity Center, Meals on Wheels program, 1121 Forrest Ave., Dover, DE 19904; or SPCA, Kent County, 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934.
